DownEast Return Policy:
Unused, unwashed and “like new” merchandise with tags still attached may be exchanged or returned for a full refund to original form of payment under the following conditions:*

Clothing & Accessories: within 30 days of original purchase
Furniture & Home Accessories: within 14 days of original purchase or delivery date
Mattresses: within 100 days of original purchase or delivery date

Original receipt or purchase verification is required on all returns and exchanges.

*Some exclusions apply. No returns, exchanges, or refunds on special order, as-is, or final sale items. Delivery and shipping/handling fees will not be refunded.

Online Returns:
1. Simply fill out the Return Form included in your order or you may download the form here.
2. If you are unable to include the invoice in your return, please write your name, phone number, email address, and invoice/order number on the Return Form.

3. If your order was shipped with incorrect or defective merchandise a label may be issued to mail the item back by contacting customer service for a claim to be started (documentation may be needed for corporate purposes). DownEast will not reimburse shipping costs of incorrect or defective merchandise if customer uses their own method of shipping the product back.
4. Customers are responsible for the shipping cost of returns. Ship your return using the method and cost of your choice and convenience.
5. We will process your refund when we receive the returned merchandise. (If after 30 days online credit will be given)
6. No returns or exchanges on swimwear if the hygiene strip has been removed.
7. DOWNEAST retail stores are unable to accept returns for orders paid with PayPal, only in store credit or exchanges are allowed. For a full refund if purchased within 30 days please use the Return/Exchange form below and mail the order back in.

Online Order Cancellations/Changes:
No changes can be made to an order once submitted. When we designed our fulfillment processes at, our goal was to save you time by quickly processing your order. The moment you submit your order, you can expect that we are immediately working to get it to you as quickly as possible.

Online Exchanges:
1. You may send items in for an Exchange of a different size or style.
2. You may go to our website and place a new order for the items you would like in exchange. This will ensure the items you want will be in stock and that you will receive them quickly. Then send back the items you would like to exchange and we will treat it as a return.
3. You may also write your exchange preferences on the Return/Exchange form and include it along with the invoice and product that you would like to exchange.
4. Customers are responsible for paying for the shipping charges on their exchange. We will contact you for your billing information once we receive your exchange.
5. If the item you are requesting becomes out of stock prior to processing your Exchange, we will refund you for the item(s) sent in for the Exchange and email you notification.

Only unused, unwashed and “like new” merchandise with tags still attached will be accepted for return. This maintains that the items are in the same condition as when they were bought, with no visible wear and product is intact. All swim purchases must retain the hygiene strip. 

Refunds and exchanges are subject to the following time frames:
Clothing & Accessories: within 30 days of original purchase
Furniture & Home Accessories: within 14 days of original purchase or delivery date
Mattresses: within 100 days of original purchase or delivery date

All refunds will be tendered in the same form of payment as the original transaction. All credit/debit refunds will be returned to the exact same card, which must be present at the time of the transaction.

In store cash refunds over $200 are subject to delay in processing in order for a check to be processed and shipped to the customer. Processing takes approximately 1-2 weeks.

No returns, exchanges, or refunds on special order, as-is, or final sale items.

Delivery and shipping/handling fees will not be refunded. Shipping and return of merchandise is the customer’s responsibility.

DownEast will price adjust for store credit only within 30 days. Special holiday events and flash sales will be excluded, including but not limited to the events surrounding Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the days after Christmas.

DownEast merchandise is not intended for resale. DownEast reserves the right to refuse any refund.

Original receipts are required for refunds and exchanges. In addition, some personal information, including name, email and phone number will be required for any return.

If original receipt is not present, DownEast will gladly look up purchase information within our system. If we’re able to verify the purchase, customers will be eligible to receive a full refund in accordance with the terms and conditions of the DownEast return policy.

Valid on apparel only: If DownEast is unable to verify the purchase, the company will issue a store credit for 40% off the item’s current selling price.

Original receipts are required on all furniture and home accessory returns and exchanges.

All furniture and home accessories must be returned to a home store location.

If the customer is not satisfied with the comfort of the new mattress within 100 days, DownEast will issue a refund to the original form of payment. Any and all delivery fees will not be returned.

This policy is limited to one return per household and/or customer per year. The customer is responsible for returning the mattress to a home store location.

Online customers who are unable to return the mattress back to a physical store location, can donate the mattress and provide an approved “donation” receipt for a full refund. Contact customer service for more information, approved donation centers, and donation procedures before donating.

Special Order Furniture & Rugs:
All special orders (products not stocked by DownEast home) are treated as final sale. Therefore, refunds cannot be given on this merchandise. All manufacturers’ warranties will be upheld.

Gift Cards:
Gift cards and Store Merchandise Cards are not redeemable for cash.
Gift cards and Store Merchandise Cards will not be replaced if lost or stolen.

There are a number of states that allow redemption of gift cards for cash when the value of the gift card falls below a certain amount. As of June 15, 2011, these states include: California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Montana, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington. The laws of every state are subject to change, and DownEast does not guarantee the accuracy of information regarding the individual laws of each state.
